Emergency Absence and Training Catch-Up Policy

Emergency Absence Policy

-Studio East School of Yoga understands that exceptional circumstances may occasionally prevent a student from attending a scheduled training day. Where a student is unable to attend due to an emergency, consideration for a catch-up arrangement may be granted at the sole discretion of Studio East School of Yoga. The student must notify the school as soon as reasonably possible and provide appropriate supporting evidence of the emergency. Acceptable evidence may include, but is not limited to, a medical certificate, hospital documentation, bereavement notice, or other relevant official documentation.

Lecture Content

Where an emergency absence is approved, Studio East School of Yoga will provide access to a recording of the lecture-based components of the missed training day. Recordings are supplied solely for the purpose of allowing the student to review missed theoretical content and must not be copied, shared, distributed, or made available to any third party.

Practical Training Requirements

Attendance at practical training sessions is a mandatory component of the Yoga Teacher Training programme. Any practical hours missed due to an approved emergency absence must be completed by the student through additional classes, practical workshops, and/or practice teaching sessions as determined by Studio East School of Yoga.

Completion of all required practical hours is necessary before certification can be awarded.

Mandatory One-to-One Catch-Up Session

In addition to reviewing the recorded lecture content and completing any missed practical hours, the student must attend a minimum of one (1) hour of one-to-one tuition with either Jess Jacobs or Rachel Skipper.

The purpose of this session is to ensure that the student has fully understood and integrated the content covered during the missed training day and to assess any areas requiring further support.

One-to-one tuition will be charged at a rate of £75 per hour and must be paid in full prior to the session taking place.

Where deemed necessary by Studio East School of Yoga, additional one-to-one sessions may be recommended to ensure the student has met the required training standards.

Certification

Studio East School of Yoga reserves the right to withhold certification until all missed practical hours, practice teaching requirements, one-to-one tuition sessions, assignments, and course requirements have been satisfactorily completed

Immersion

-SESOY takes no responsibility for cancellation of any transport booked to travel to the Immersion and will not be held responsible for any refunds and charges incurred associated.

-SESOY will not be able to refund the training costs if for any reason you are unable to attend the immersion.

Payment Plans

-All payment plans must be agreed by Studio East School of Yoga.

-We do not offer other payment plans.

Code of Conduct

No refunds will be given if the school removes a student from the training for bad conduct. Bad conduct is a violation of the Code of Conduct, harassment, bullying, or any other behavior that is inappropriate or disruptive to the welfare of the training or to fellow students.

Force Majeure

-In the case of force majeure and the training cannot go ahead, the training will be post-poned to a time and location when it can proceed.

-No cash refunds will be issued.

-If the course is forced to be postponed part way through the course, SESOY will rearrange the remaining modules of the course and if this is not possible for students to attend, SESOY will transfer to the next training that they are available for.
